I just bought the creepiest looking plant, called a Splitrock:
It’s a member of the Argyroderma species from South Africa. In winter it’s supposed to flower, producing a silky daisy-like bloom that’s usually either purple or yellow. Cool and totally strange, right? I picked the smallest one of the bunch because the other, larger ones with more leaf segments (like these) sorta scare me.

I must admit, that is an odd looking plant, but it looks so pretty on your windowsill! I used to have a plant just like the one to the right of the seashells… until it died. I’m no good with plants, so I think I’ll just admire yours.
Thanks! I had a lavender plant that just recently died, so I think I’m better with the succulents. (And the pothos; they’re hard to kill.) Of course, I have no idea what’ll happen with this little one here. I already feel like it’s growing.
I’ve always loved these plants when I see them…. the symmetry is just wonderful.
